Activation Error - Unusable App

Impossible to activate the app, thanks to iPhone & Inbox app. Error message each time Something went wrong. Try again later. Few support found on the internet that hasnt permitted yet to find a solution.

Nice initiative

Very nice initiative, but it’s very buggy and needs a lot of fixes. Hope the app gets new versions with a faster interface and less bugs.

Perfect alternative for Inbox on the web

Boxy essentially is a wrapper for the Google Inbox website. Beyond that it provides notifications, a slightly modified style and some additional view options (collapse side bar, reader mode...). It works perfectly when youre familiar to the website of Google Inbox and dont need offline support.

Can’t remove non working account!

Once you add an account that requires specific activation from an admin (for example Google Apps for Work), you can never go back! If you are unlucky enough to not have inbox activated by your admin, you can’t revert your decision and the app stays stuck on the same activation screen. You can’t even remove the account rendering the app virtually useless. Uninstalling the app doesn’t help either, the app stays stuck on the same screen.

Yes!

E-Mail belongs into a native app on Mac OSX. E-Mail need to be managed easily! Boxy finally makes me switch from Apple Mail to Inbox.

User experience is everything else but smooth

The app looks awesome, unfortunatley its user experience is everything else but smooth. The UI constantly lags, hangs and even breaks sometimes, requiring me to press Cmd+R to reload the whole frame. Clearly Boxy is just a web-wrapper to Inbox, with a few nice hacks built right into it - unfortunately these hacks appear to make the usually quite smooth Inbox UI pretty sluggish and very annoying to use. @Developers: Please fix these issues and Ill be the first to give a five-star rating.

Pleasant Surprise…with drawbacks

I was expecting a simple Wrapper App that loaded the Inbox website into the window, but it looks and feels very native. Seems like the developer rebuild the entire Inbox interface and made it work. I’m impressed by this. EDIT: It didnt take long for me to see the negative aspects about wrapper applications. If Google changes something about Inbox it might completely break Boxy, which it did already. Or it might just lead to interface glitches which it also did in the past days. Now, the dev is pretty quick fixing these problems, but it will remain a problem in the future of this application. Just because the dev is very active right now, doesnt mean he will be in a few months from now. Im still using it though.

Good alternative to using Gmail in the Browser

The app is good in regard to what it does: it frees me from having to have all my Gmail accounts open in the browser. Granted, there are a few aspects which are annoying: switching between accounts takes some time, I don’t get notifications for emails arriving in other accounts, etc). I feel that this is something that the developers can improve upon (if it’s technically feasable), but overall I have been satisfied with the trial version I’ve used so far – so satisfied that I bought Boxy. I didn’t have crashes so the app has been stable and reliable for me.

Great start! Only a few bugs to work out.

It’s a bit slow switching accounts but otherwise does a great job of ensuring Inbox works the way you’d expect. Desktop notifications are also working okay - they do not let me click to jump to the message however.

Neat, but...

Great stuff. I like it so far. But, how come I can’t go full-screen?

Great for a single account

Pretty good so far except it would be nice if I saw desktop notifications for all inboxes and not just the currently selected one. Same applies to the unread counter in the dock.

If you like inbox by google, this app is great!

Makes google inbox feel like a native app, perfect!! Suggestion for developer: Would be great if Maximize went Full Screen.

Inbox Zero - not so much

Great work overall. There’s one thing that prevents me from using it: I use my email as a todo list, and I follow the inbox zero philosophy, so I need to see at a glance on my OSX dock all emails remaining (read or unread in all inboxes). I know this is not a feature of Inbox, but if you guys could implement a preference option that enables the OSX app badge to show the number of remaining emails, that would be amazing.

Great start

This is a great start for an app like this. I’m a dedicated Inbox user, so it’s great to have something not tied to a browser tab. Love the dedicated side bar, the Yosemite/El Cap title bar, and the fact that it uses San Francisco as the font and not Helvetica. Nice mac-like touches.

Please add gestures!

Very good start! Please add gesture, theyre what makes Inbox great.

Needs native fullscreen support

Bought the app and it seems really nice but I can’t justify using it until there is native Yosemite-era fullscreen support.

I’ve been waiting for this!

Great work!

Pretty but lacks full functionality still

You can’t download attachments and opening them within the App itself could use some refinement.

From Inbox, with Markdown

This is a damn fine email program, marrying the efficiency of inbox with the beuty of a native Mac app.

Great app

Great App, perfect to work in a nice clean environment! My only issue is the speed of changing between multiple accounts but i am sure they will fix this issue.
